According to the latest figures from the NPD, the role-playing game Elden Ring and the Nintendo Switch console were the most successful in the USA in February 2022.
The NPD Group has published US sales figures for hardware and software for February 2022.
As Matt Piscatella of the NPD Group published via Twitter, the role-playing game Elden Ring dominated on the Xbox platform and claimed first place for itself. Call of Duty: Vanguard claimed second place, while Dying Light 2 Stay Human landed in third place.
It wasn’t enough for first place on the PlayStation and so Elden Ring has to settle for second place and still ahead of Horizon II: Forbidden West. As on Xbox, Dying Light 2 Stay Human also occupies third place on Sony consoles.
Taking all platforms into account, Elden Ring is on the podium for the best-selling video games in February 2022, ahead of Horizon II: Forbidden West. FromSoftware’s latest masterpiece pushes Pokemon Legends: Arceus down from its previous top spot to the top three.
A look at the top 10 best-selling video games of the last twelve months (until the end of February 2022) shows that Elden is right in the middle with 5. The top spots are taken by Call of Duty: Vanguard, Madden NFL 22, and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
In the hardware sector, according to the NPD, sales fell by 27% compared to February 2021 to USD 295 million. Year-to-date sales of $685 million are down 5% from a year ago.
The Nintendo Switch was the top seller in February 2022 in terms of both units and dollars, followed by the Xbox Series models. The PlayStation 5 leads hardware in dollar sales for the year.
Finally, the Xbox Wireless Elite Controller II was the top-selling accessory in February 2022. He also leads the year 2022 so far.
