A Bandai Namco business strategy forces us to wait to enjoy the expansion of last year’s best game
The illusion of the new Elden Ring expansion has always kept us on our toes for anything that might sound like an announcement of its departure. Although nothing more has been said to us since the announcement of its existence, today we can speculate thanks to the always reliable commercial presentations.
And yes, as usual this month, thanks to the fact that all the companies come together in March to do the business presentations relevant and generate financial reports where they project their activity until March 2024, we were able to discover new data from Form Software. Now, and based on these reports from Bandai Namco, it looks like DLC for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree isn’t planned for this year.
A business strategy, the Elden Ring DLC is postponed to 2024
Now, according to this business report, the intent to launch this content expansion that has been worked on for a year now, appears to be that they seek to maximize profits by using the Elden Ring name as leverage. That might make sense, because eclipsing Armored Core VI sales with an expansion to one of the most beloved games of the past decade could be a kick in the foot for the company.
The positive thing about this is that From Software will have more time to create and polish this long-awaited DLC, expand the game’s lore and give us new missions as a “prequel”.
For now, we know that Elden Ring continues to break sales records as From Software prepares to launch Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon on August 25, 2023.
