Summer. A time to relax… but not in the city. Summer of Horrors will feature a variety of updates, additions, events, and crossovers Dying Light 2 Stay Human from now through September, and it all starts with the Good Night, Good Luck update. The latest update promises darker nights and updated parkour moves to make the ultimate zombie game even better! Believe us, you will be #dying2survive.
“At Summer Game Fest, we said this was going to be a season of events like our players have never seen before,” said Dying Light Franchise Director Tymon Smektała. “The Good Night, Good Luck update is just the beginning of what’s to come. We’ve improved the night experience to make it more daunting, dangerous, deadly, and give Pilgrims more control by adding physical parkour. There’s so much more to Summer of Horrors, and trust us, you won’t want to miss it!”
We’re always listening to our community’s feedback and thinking about what we can do to make our game even more fun for them. Based on the feedback and data we received, it was clear that our players wanted a more advanced form of the parkour that was already in the game, and add more terrors with roaming Volatiles, our universe’s pinnacle predators. So that’s what we did.
The latest update will feature spookier nights (similar to the original). dying light) and a greater sense of freedom when freerunning in Villedor. So get ready to never feel safe again after the sun goes down and be more relaxed while running and jumping from roof to roof!
Be afraid of the night
Unlike your traditional summer nights, darkness has enshrouded further in Villedor once the sun goes down. Is that a friend or a foe that’s hard to see at night? Or maybe it’s an inanimate object and your mind is playing tricks on you? The dangers that lurk in the dark are now more hidden, leading to a greater sense of fear. And to add to the excitement, Volatiles will now roam the streets looking for their next prey. We’re assuming you could just sit in a safe zone all night, but where’s the fun in that?
Run or die!
We want you to feel the rush and sense of freedom that a freerunner has when running across rooftops or taking a leap of faith to a platform below. To that end, we’ve added Physical Parkour, which allows you to feel even more of the flow, control in the air, and the speed at which you travel. If you hear a scream or footsteps in the night, you can use all your parkour arsenal moves to flee toward the light. In the settings you can choose between Physical Parkour (more realistic and responsive) and Assisted Parkour (easier control of the character).
Good night good luck stream
As with all updates, we like to show the community what’s being added to the community and express our passion for the additions through the screen. Join us on the official Dying Light Twitch channel on June 29th at 8pm BST. We’ll explain what to expect from the upcoming update and maybe even share a few tips and tricks that might help you in your fight for survival!

A POST-APOCALYPSE WORLD Fifteen years ago, mankind was devastated by the Fall – a cataclysmic event that would change the world forever. With the Harran virus spreading around the world, people quickly realized that all hope for tomorrow is lost. In 2036, with only a few settlements left, humanity is slowly dying out, making way for the new species out there – a horde of relentless zombies. Day is for the living, night is for the dead. Welcome to Villedor, one of humanity’s last bastions. During the day, the survivors still try to make a living here and find a false sense of normality. Relationships are formed, dreams are dreamed and life goes on. On the surface, everything seems… fine. So until sunset. And who says you need guns? Use the entire Parkour moveset to give your enemies a head start. Learn the combat and parkour methods to feel the crunch of skulls and chunks of flesh as you swing weapons or use your moves to fend off any kind of danger. Team up with up to three other players and increase your chances out there. Uncover the story together, take on the Pilgrim Outpost challenges, or just wreak havoc on the city streets.
