Fortnite is returning to iOS devices. There is no specific date yet, but it should be this year.
Fortnite can be played (again) on Apple devices in Europe from this year. This was announced via the official X-formerly Twitter account. Those responsible did not announce a specific start date; the post simply states that it will be later in the year.
As the post also reveals, the DMA, a major new law in the European Union, would allow Fortnite to return to iOS.
At the same time, it refers to the fact that Fortnite was removed from the offering for iOS and macOS in 2020 after Epic Games violated the Apps Store guidelines.
Although Fortnite will no longer be offered via the App Store following this policy violation, Apple’s new policy allows other providers to install apps via iOS devices. Epic Games can also use this – completely legally – and bring Fortnite back to Apple devices.
