The Season 3 multiplayer trailer has been released and left us with several important details. And it is that according to what the developers have told us, this is the biggest update of Halo Infinite, so we can expect a lot of new content and this will allow us to play and play without bored in a sandbox with little variety.
Inside the trailer, we can see everything that’s coming first with the update, as well as a sneak peek at the narrative that will expand the lore of Halo. According to this, this new season includes two new Arena maps (Chasm and Cliffhanger), a map for Big Team Battle (Oasis), new loading screens, a new weapon (DMR), the game mode Scalation Slayer, new cores armor, a new armor ability, and the Fracture event called Firewall. Additionally, the range of Forge cards will be expanded with the playlist in quick matches.
A new season, a new disappointment?
Unfortunately, and given the past, we have to be cautious and critical of the current state of Halo Infinite. We’ve been without consistent content for a long time and it looks like this new season is off to a bad start. There are few maps, few game modes, and what seems most disturbing, few incentives to play.
Despite the initial appearance of this update, the truth is that everything is very promising. With every novelty we have, we know we will be happy as Halo players, but the possibility that we can enjoy the video game is also latent. The most significant new features are:
- New weapon, the DMR: One of the most requested weapons by the community has finally arrived. We all wanted this equivalent of the Battle Rifle, so this addition will have great sentimental value for players.
- Firewall narrative events: As we anticipated from the leaks, the narrative events of Halo Infinite will focus on the corrupt Iratus AI doing mischief through the mind control of a confused Spartan. Apparently we will have events with this theme, but for now the game mode to represent it will be Scalation.
- Personalization: Don new armor cores will come in the customization section, being an incredible opportunity to create a new spartan with totally new pieces in the saga. The important thing about this is that the battle pass will contain at least more cosmetics than in the past.
With all of the above, it’s possible that a lot of content will arrive throughout the 3 months that this is expected to last. If not, we may be looking at Halo Infinite’s final transitional season before 343 integrates a new “game as a service” system to deliver content on a regular basis; essentially a new Halo Infinite. When we find out, it won’t be the other week with the launch, but in about 2 months when this season is over.
Soon 343 will do its usual presentation of the entire battle pass with the cosmetic content that will arrive and the incentives to buy the premium. In the meantime, we can only wait and be excited about what we have.
