The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions have been canceled in order to focus their efforts on the next-gen console versions, with Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 as the spearhead. Gotham Knights will arrive next Friday, October 21 and brings with it a great controversy that we told you about this morning in another news, the game will run at 30 frames per second.
We have known the explanations of a person in charge of the study and these do not seem very convincing for the fans who were waiting for the game. The specific explanation they gave is that for the game to work properly, it was in its 4 person co-op mode, low resolution was enough for them, so they made the decision to limit the game to 30 Fps and keep the resolution at 4K.
Gotham Knights at 30 Fps on console
After the explanations, many players wondered why they hadn’t added a performance mode to play solo, that means that in this way we could play at 60 frames per second alone and only cover the frame rate. frames per second in cooperative mode, something logical, but something that will happen.
I know many of you want the Gotham Knights performance mode on consoles. Due to the features we have in our game, such as a completely independent cooperative experience in our open game alongside a highly detailed world, lowering the resolution is not enough to increase the FPS. For this reason, our game will not have a performance/quality switcher and will run at 30fps on console.
If you go through Reddit, you will see that there is a big disagreement around this decision, to the point that many players have decided to cancel the purchase of the game. The PC version, in addition to being cheaper, allows us to configure the game however we want, which still leaves the decision made by the studio in a worse place.
