F1 2021, the car racing simulation game, was released in July 2021. With improved Career and MyTeam modes, and a multiplayer that suffered from numerous bugs for several months, Codemasters’ latest game received many updates. After adding the three missing circuits to the call, today the studio introduces its new update 1.15 that brings new features for network gaming.
No more losing badminton force feedback with Quick Resume
The artificial intelligence has been modified in certain turns to make it lose speed:
- Austrian Grand Prix: Turn 9
- Belgian Grand Prix: Round 10
- Dutch Grand Prix: Turn 7
Incorrect penalties applied around the Jeddah pit lane will also be removed. The speed limit in the Zandvoort pits has also been corrected and now matches the official limit for the 2021 season. Several issues related to F2 have also been fixed by Codemasters. It will also be possible to use custom teams in Grand Prix mode.
A very problematic bug also caused many problems for flying gamers on next-gen Xbox. Force Feedback would sometimes turn off randomly in the middle of a session. This should be history according to the patch note for this 1.15 update. This also improves the stability of the title.
New features for network games
Any player from F1 2021 can testify: A connection problem in multiplayer can quickly become a real ordeal. To better inform each virtual pilot, three new icons related to the connection appear:
- Connection problems: appears when a player is connected to less than two-thirds of the other participants
- Low bandwidth: is active when your bandwidth is below a certain threshold
- Host Bandwidth: works like Low bandwidth but for the host. If it falls below the limit, each player will be warned.
F1 2021 was released on Xbox, Playstation and PC consoles. It is available from the Microsoft Store for $69.99..
