From its first announcement in 2006 as the Playstation-exclusive Final Fantasy Versus XIII to today, it’s already been raining. Final Fantasy XV has had more than one setback in its development and had to pass through the hands of Luminous Productions and Hajime Tabata. Already when it was launched, the seams were visible, and only in the Royal Edition many errors and script holes were left unpolished. I think it’s the Final Fantasy that I’ve scored the worst in my 16+ years of writing about video games.
However, this change of scenery seems to have pleased a good user base. Specifically 10 million at least, to be exact. This is the number of copies that the game managed to place.
Final Fantasy XV is a success
In 2018 we learned that the game had managed to reach the figure of 8 million copies sold, and if it is true that the pace has decreased, the truth is that it was logical that it was so. Of course, what the game of Noctis and his band of misfits has achieved is highly commendable.
The announcement was made by official game account on Twitter and other social networks. Now Luminous Productions is immersed in the development of Forspoken, a game that will come to PS5 and PC, and which has every sign of seeing the light on Xbox later on.
