ForzaHorizon 10th anniversary
On October 23, 2012, Forza Horizon introduced car and music fans around the world to the Horizon Festival in Colorado. As the 10th anniversary approaches, Playground Games is preparing to celebrate with the Forza community:
October 6th
- Tune in to the Forza Live Streams on the Forza Twitch and YouTube channels starting at 9:00 am PT to see all that’s coming soon to Forza Horizon 5 as the team ponders the history and development of the series.
October 11th
- Download the Forza Horizon 5: Horizon 10th Anniversary Update on Xbox, Windows, and Steam to experience the Horizon Origins story, the return of fan-favorite music, the Midnight Battles mode, and more.
- From October 11th – and October 13th – through October 24th, keep an eye out for some must-have sales in the Microsoft Store on Steam, including up to 67% off ForzaHorizon 4 and up to 30% discount ForzaHorizon 5.

- Beginning October 13, the Festival Playlist will feature four weeks of Anniversary Events, Challenges, and Rewards, each celebrating a previous entry in the Forza Horizon franchise.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th anniversary
November 11th
- That Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition launches as a free update on November 11, 2022 and for the first time since 2006 will include helicopters and gliders, the most requested upgrades by our community. This issue also introduces a faithful airliner – the highly sophisticated Airbus A-31 – on which almost every single button works as expected.
- We’re celebrating the history of aviation with the launch of seven iconic historic aircraft Microsoft Flight Simulator 40th anniversary edition. These aircraft include the 1903 Wright Flyer, the 1915 Curtiss JN-4 Jenny, the 1927 Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, the 1935 Douglas DC-3, the beautiful 1937 Grumman G-21 Goose, the Havilland 1947 DHC-2 Beaver, and the famous 1947 Hughes H-4 Hercules (the largest seaplane and largest wooden plane ever built), known as the Spruce Goose.
- The update also includes four classic airports, including Meigs Field in Chicago, a traditional departure airport for the Microsoft flight simulator Franchise.
- It’s an exciting update that celebrates our community, our history and the beauty of aviation!
