Hi everyone! I am so excited that Battle cake is now on Xbox! Trouble is brewing in the cake kingdom of Pasteleria, as the local animals have been incited by a mysterious force – and are causing chaos in the neighboring countries. It’s up to you and your friends, the adventurous Red Velvet and the magical Midnite Truffle, to get to the bottom of it.
And you know what that means: road trip! To get you started on the right foot… er, on the right foot?… here are four tasty tips and tricks to help you on your adventure!
Search for ingredients for production
Don’t just admire the landscape, mix it up! As you make your way through the different biomes of Battle cakemake sure to forage for crafting ingredients by shaking bushes, chopping up plants, and digging anywhere you see dirt crosses on the ground.
You can combine these ingredients via crafting NPCs to create useful items like First Aid Frosting and other boosters and tonics. The gathering points are randomly generated and refresh after a good night’s sleep at the local inn, so keep searching!
Animals also like craft ingredients … sometimes
Food ingredients are unique to each biome and can also be a unique favorite of the animals that live there. If you have any ingredients left over, try giving one to the animals during an encounter. Find their favorite and you could increase their friendship points. But be careful, because the wrong ingredient could make them extra grumpy and possibly even give them a power boost.
Stock up on the right ingredients and you can end an encounter particularly quickly.
Always try different toppers
Cake toppers can give your heroes a variety of bonuses, so be sure to try different combinations for your heroes and swap them out as often as you need. Some toppers can boost general stats, like power or defense. Some toppers can boost your friendship with certain critters. Some can protect you from certain critter attacks. And some are just plain silly or stylish.
… Did you know? Some toppers can simply be things you find in the world and stick on your head. True story!
Watch out for reflective animals
As your journey continues into strange and magical lands, some creatures have the unique ability to deflect certain types of attacks and reflect them back at you. Look for the symbol of power, moxie, or magic on their body to get a clue as to which hero needs to be careful. For example, Red Velvet’s moves are based on moxie, so if there’s a reflective creature with a moxie symbol on their body, try using an item or helping an ally instead of attacking them on their turn. This can save your heroes from accidentally beating themselves up!
