While there is no denying that eye-catching supercars and fun off-road vehicles are the stars of the show in the Forza horizon Series, it is the diverse, realistic environments that make the games really shine. Whether it’s about to stir things up as you venture through the Australian outback in Forza Horizon 3 or on a clear autumn day in. leave a swirling trail of leaves through the English countryside Forza Horizon 4, we all have fond memories of exploring the living worlds created by the developers at Playground Games. with Forza Horizon 5, the team has its sights set on the most diverse location to date: Mexico.
“We knew from the start that we wanted this to be the biggest Forza horizon still. But if we wanted to be the greatest, we had to offer the greatest variety and contrasts, ”says Mike Brown, Creative Director of Forza horizon at playground games. “Mexico is almost like the whole world in one country: snow-capped peaks, tropical jungles, epic canyons, beautiful beaches, ancient architecture and modern cities. When you add in the incredible culture of Mexico – the music, the art, the history, the people – there is no more exciting place for the Horizon Festival. ”
The Playground Games team collapsed Forza Horizon 5‘s Mexico is divided into 11 different and unique biomes, each of which has been carefully researched and recreated by the team. “Our team collects references from the site and creates concept images that highlight the beauty and unique details of each biome. We use techniques like photogrammetry to reproduce the environment with the greatest possible accuracy, ”says Don Arceta, Art Director for Forza Horizon 5
The seasons are also returning Forza Horizon 5which gives the experience a new level of diversity and complexity than before Forza horizon Games. In addition, each of the 11 unique biomes will transition differently through the seasons. For example, spring means the rainy season in Mexico’s jungles and farmlands, while summer could bring intense tropical thunderstorms along the coasts. Forza Horizon 5 Seasons keep Mexico constantly evolving, encouraging players to fully explore the world every time the seasons change.
But what about the biomes themselves? Spread out on a map about one and a half times the size Forza Horizon 4s, the 11 biomes represent the most diverse map a Forza horizon Game ever delivered. Let’s take a closer look:
canyon
You can recognize this as the biome that was shown in the Forza Horizon 5 reveal trailer in June. It’s filled with rock formations that are patterned with unique stripes, many of which erode into hoodoos that can only be found in the canyon. Fun fact: each of the biomes has a unique audio and the canyon has more echoes than any of the others.
Tropical coast
This is what you might think of when you envision a tropical vacation in Mexico. Filled with palm trees, seagulls, white sandy beaches, and calm waters, it feels like a living postcard. At least it does until you hit storm season, which completely changes the way you have to navigate it. Watch out for flying palm trees!
Farmland
Contrasted with the flatter or drier farmland found in some of the previous ones Forza horizon Games, these rolling hills are filled with lush vegetation, fruit-bearing trees, and wide, shallow rivers. You’ll be able to break through many fences and explore quaint homesteads as you cruise through here.
Dry hills
As you might guess from the name, this biome is full of dry grasses on rolling hills and plains, with plenty of open space to traverse if you feel like off-roading. One of the coolest features in this biome is a lake that actually dries up in the winter season and opens up shortcuts over quick passages and secret areas.
jungle
Filled with lush, dense vegetation and towering trees that let beautiful rays of sunshine through the canopy, this biome also features some impressive waterfalls and winding rivers. There are also a number of hidden temples in this area, all of which are based on real-world locations in Mexico.
Living desert
In a first for the Forza horizon series, Forza Horizon 5 features a cactus desert full of towering saguaros. There are also a number of rock formations and rock piles that are unique to the region. As the name suggests, it is full of life and features plenty of flowers and wildlife.
Rocky coast
While the tropical coast has lots of trees and vegetation, this one has a very different atmosphere. Since there aren’t a lot of trees, you get full ocean views and some excellent sunset views at the end of the day. As a bonus for all of the golfers out there, you can even take a round (read: through) a golf course.
Sandy desert
This biome filled with towering sand dunes is perfect for driving around in a buggy and carving in the sand. If you don’t feel like getting sand between your toes, many streets in this area have long straights so you have plenty of opportunities to see how fast your favorite ride is Yes, really goes.
swamp
While a swamp might not be the best place to race, the shallow waters of this biome are a great place for it. There are also many mangrove trees in the swamp that have very thick, interconnected roots. You can actually break through these during the race and change the route depending on whether your car can handle it or not.
Urban city of Guanajuato
As with a number of cities in Mexico, there is amazing architecture and bright colors everywhere. Unlike many cities, however, there are plenty of rolling hills and tunnels which make for some really fun racing tracks. As with the canyon, you will hear many echoes on the city’s narrow streets.
volcano
In another premiere for the Forza horizon Series, this massive mountain is right next to the Living Desert. It is a very high altitude volcano, so the drive to the top is a unique experience that rewards players by looking far into the horizon. This is also the only place in the game that you will encounter snow, so be sure to pack an extra jacket.
We hope you enjoyed this in-depth look at the various biomes you will encounter in Forza horizon 5. This is the largest and most diverse open world ever in a Forza horizon Play with a vibrant, ever-evolving landscape and limitless driving action in hundreds of the best cars in the world.
You can explore Mexico starting November 9th, though Forza Horizon 5 Releases for Xbox Series X | S, PC on Windows and Steam and Xbox Game Pass including Console, PC and Cloud Gaming (Beta).
