Star Wars Outlaws will distance itself from a typical “Ubisoft formula” and forego the well-known open-world towers.
Last Tuesday, developer Massive Entertainment released the first story trailer for Star Wars Outlaws. Since then, more and more information about the upcoming action adventure has become known.
As part of an interview with Game Informers Briad Shea
So people asked whether the Ubisoft-typical open-world towers would return. Gerighty assured that these will not be a part of the upcoming game. The Star Wars Outlaws gaming world is completely open and does not have to be unlocked by climbing towers. The map should also open completely organically and the city of Mirogana should feel compact.
In the past, Ubisoft has increasingly made use of the idea behind these towers. Players had to climb monuments to unlock map sections. After Ubisoft established this, other developers also resorted to the mechanic, which meant that it has now lost its appeal among players.
Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and is available to pre-order now.
