Ukrainian developer Frogwares has made the decision to delay their upcoming game Sherlock Holmes The Awakened by a few weeks.
Frogwares had to make the decision to delay Sherlock Holmes The Awakened by a few weeks. Originally they thought they would be ready in February/March but the situation in Ukraine over the winter has now pushed the game to March/April.
While the game’s development has always been challenging since April 2022 due to the war, the last five months from October 2022 have been extremely difficult for the team, according to a press release. Frogwares originally intended to release the game in late February/early March, but the relentless attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure have forced the team to work with constant power outages and rearranged the entire production pipeline.
The team therefore opted for a delay of a few weeks, moving the game to late March/April 2023. The developers released an update video showing more about the current situation in Kiev.
“We’ve been working very hard to meet our planned release window, but the constant power outages and frequent rocket attacks since October have meant we’ve had to reschedule and reschedule almost every month. Now we’re at a point where the game is content-ready so we can start final QA, polish, and release preparation. It is an understatement to say that we are tired of all this affecting our daily work since the beginning of winter. But we’re doing our best to move forward. Once we feel we are maybe a month away from release, we will be able to announce our full release date with an exact tag,” Sergiy Oganesyan, Publishing Director, Frogwares.
Sherlock Holmes The Awakened will be released for PC, PS4, PS5, XB1, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
