Welcome to the thieves guild, welcome to Persona 5 Royal When we talk about a game like Persona 5 Royal, we are talking about a game with a lot of history. Mucha.
personas 5 It was originally a game released on the already classic PS3, which received different improvements and editions until reaching the one that concerns us today, initially launched on PS4. Atlus finally decided it was time for gamers on more platforms to be able to play this timeless classic, and they decided to do so on the best possible terms.
editing Persona 5 Royal for Xbox and PC, which is also included in Gamep ass, it comes with a lot of details, like all the DLCs, as well as a complete translation of the video game in Spanish, as it already looked the first time it appeared with the surname of Royal.
After all the history of the game and after so much talk about it, How not to try it and bring you its recommendation?
Persona 5 Royal is anime in its purest form
If you are a fan of Japanese animation, you have Persona 5 Royal a video game obligatory. As soon as you enter the video game, a magnificent complete and perfectly animated presentation awaits you as if it were the opening of one of the best anime of the moment.
All cinematics in the game, which are not uncommon, are made like an anime, and in the meantime, the 3D graphic aspect does not clash at all. In fact, it’s something that surprised me.Well, considering it’s a “rehash” of a PS3 game, it still looks surprisingly good.(With time constraints).
This is noticeable in all possible cases, so far I’ve played 50% on 4K TV where it looks spectacularly good (in this case anime scenes might have been affected , if they hadn’t been resized from source) like playing on xbox cloud gaming, via mobile, and especially on my Steam Deck.
The game shines with its own light when it uses its neat sound section, both in the dubbing (English and Japanese, both exquisite) and musically speaking, in which the tracks that appear are incredible. The sound section, really, borders on a level difficult to see in other games, and Atlus does what it does best with the saga Persona/Shin Megami Tensei.
A surprisingly mature story
It’s rare to find video games that treat certain aspects of life with the harshness with which they are shown. Persona 5 Royal. The game puts us in the shoes of Joker (character codename, we’ll name ourselves) after being kicked out of his home by a wrongful report while trying to help someone.
When we arrive in his new city, we will be welcomed by a friend of the family who is not too happy to have us in his home, and from there we will go to our institute, the Suiyin center. This is where all the real plot of the game will begin and where we will meet our classmates and teachers.
To not spoil too much, let’s say that the gameplay is differentiated between the two game modes. One occurs during the day and the other usually occurs in the afternoon.
Day and night
In one, we are students, as models as possible, we socialize with other people, which leads us to do different activities (study, dinner, go to karaoke, play sports…) and work to earn money, the phantom thieves, they also need money.
The first story already tells us about sexual and physical abuse, suicide attempts and more. It is the fault of the distorted vision of reality that a person usually has, and which creates his mental “palace”.. Here is part of the second point of the gameplay.
During the afternoon, we can access these “palaces” via the metaverse browser; very fashionable lately, since Persona 5 Royal already said so 6 years ago, Meta. In this navigator, we access the perception of reality that the individual has in particular.
Here we have available the “people” who, according to the game, are the rebellion of our souls
Combat system: agile turns
I’m not quite sure how to define the combat system of Persona 5 Royal More than in the subtitle. It’s a fairly standard turn-based system, but nonetheless it’s a very nimble system. Enemies have strengths and weaknesses (like us) which, if we know how to exploit them correctly, can lead us to a system called “Retention”
During the detention we can negotiate with the enemy shadows so that they give us objects, money or, even more interestingly, that they can grant us their power.
It’s very interesting since our protagonist, Joker, can carry a limited number of Personas (5 at the beginning, but it increases by increasing your affinity with the confidants) and it’s an advantage in combat, because changing the character changes the abilities that we can do.
In conclusion, that I have a lot to play for
In about 20 hours of play, I still don’t think I’ve brought the whole game to the combat or confidant system. I barely scratched the first layer of the game, and that’s good.
It’s a game that we’ve had on GamePass since day 1 and that according to HowLongToBeat complete ONLY the main story lasts about 100 hoursLet’s not even count how much to complete it 100%, I think it’s a great opportunity to get lost in a beautiful story, which weighs nothing and manages to keep you glued to the screen without problems.
