Less than a week before the start of the last show of the year: The Game Award. A gala which, beyond the controversies around its nominations and awards, is the last moment of the year to see news of what awaits us in the months and years to come. Moreover, it is an event that has gained relevance over the years and in which we have even seen the first presentation of Xbox Series X and Hellblade II.
And it looks like this year’s edition is no slouch, at least in terms of games and number of announcements. Or so reveal the statements of Geoff Keighley, creator, presenter and organizer of the show.
The Game Awards is preparing to show more than 30 games this year
In a question and answer thread on Reddit, the show host confirmed that during the show we will see between 30 and 40 games that will show new trailers and information, as well as a good number of new announcements. Although we don’t have an official figure, with this data and with what he commented a few days ago that he expected there to be around 50 announcements, we can expect a night with lots of new content. Will he reach the expected figure of fifty games or will he stay below?
Additionally, Geoff commented that he was very excited about the show. Specifically, he says this year’s edition feels good, not only with viewers returning to the show, but also with “the really good lineup of content and commercials and a good show in general.”
If everything holds together and we can master a few surprises, it’s going to be a very fun night! It’s been a while since I felt this good in a show.
What surprises does this year’s edition have in store for us? Remember that the Game Awards take place on the night of December 8, and at dawn on December 9 in Europe.
