In Cyberpunk 2077 the voice of The Witcher Geralt of Rivia will not be there.
CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 should appear next week – yes, this time really – although the pre-load and activation times were only recently announced. Given The Witcher series’ deep roots in the studio, is there a chance Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt of Rivia, performing? Unfortunately not, as the man himself says.
Cockle said opposite Eurogamer, he had “so far” had no “participation” in Cyberpunk 2077.
“It was mentioned a long time ago, but CDPR didn’t bring me in for anything. I’m actually kind of sad about it! Well Maybe in the future…”
Which could possibly suggest that Cockle might bring up a character for DLC or in a future expansion.
Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t do without allusions to the medieval fantasy series. As early as June, previews discovered a retro gaming magazine during the first few hours of the game that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was named “Game of the Month”, with Ciri on the cover.
Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Google Stadia on December 10th. The versions for Xbox Series X / S and PS5 should be released in 2021.
