Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is getting free DLC today.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, an action-packed 4v1 game from the asymmetric multiplayer experts at IllFonic, releases its first DLC today. This is available for free. The main game is available on PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation and Xbox.
Design Director Jordan Mathewson explains what makes playing this map so unique: “This location [Karte] is clearly marked by time, giving players a unique feel compared to our previous locations [Karten] conveyed. The builders are civilians and have begun the restoration of this facility, revealing why it was abandoned in the first place. Varied corridors combined with medium-sized rooms are built on top of each other to offer a unique, more intimate gaming experience with a spookier aesthetic. There will be some interesting ways to use these new areas on this map to the advantage of any player, Ghostbuster or Ghost.”
Highlights:
- New Map – The Facility. The Facility closed forever in the late 1980s and was recently purchased by a private investor group with plans to refurbish and reopen. Unfortunately, The Facility is haunted by ghosts and the construction crews refuse to enter the haunted health center.
- New ghost type – Glutton. This includes Muncher and two additional variants. Muncher is a fan favorite and the most wanted ghost. Haunted enthusiasts won’t be disappointed when they get their hands on this mischievous ghost dude in game.
- Firehouse Extensions. Players will get new character customization options, gear like the Gizmo Belt and Disruptor Pylon, gear accessory improvements, and more.
- gameplay. The team has been working hard to improve in-game matchmaking. All bots have also been improved, both those that follow you and those that help you chase ghosts away.
IllFonic plans to release similar DLC drops for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed for free every quarter of 2023, in addition to the ongoing Quality of Life patches.
