Layers of Fears is a reimagining that brings together Layers of Fear, its DLCs and Layers of Fear 2. The new Layers of Fears uses the Unreal Engine 5.
The PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X offer two display modes. Quality mode increases resolution, lighting quality and adds ray tracing at 30fps. In performance mode, ray tracing is removed, the lighting quality is slightly reduced and the average resolution is increased. This mode is recommended by the analyst for both consoles. The Xbox Series S does not have ray tracing and has some clipping effects such as shadows, global lighting, geometry and some post-processing effects.
The PS5 offers a higher average resolution than the Xbox Series X in both graphic modes. In the first areas of the last chapter, among others, the XSX shows an average of 1188p in performance mode, while PS5 offers 1332p. In terms of performance, 30fps mode suffers from stuttering on PS5 and XSX. Aside from certain areas, the three consoles maintain 60fps without much trouble.
