Halo co-creator Marcus Lehto leaves the studio he founded to support Battlefield

Lehto, co-creator of the Halo franchise during his time at Bungie, served as art director and creative director and founded his own studio in 2021

, Ridgeline Games. The idea of the studio, based in Seattle, was to work on a single-player installment of the Battlefield series with other development studios that were focusing their efforts on multiplayer and some spin off.

There official count Lehto’s Twitter/X has already been updated and reflects the creator’s departure from the EA studio.

one that underwent several restructurings after the disastrous launch of the IP’s latest opus: Battlefield 2042. Back in 2021 EA announced plans to create a Battlefield universe completely interconnected to which a new development structure would accompany it.

As for the future, Ripple Effect studio is working on “a new Battlefield experience that will complement the foundations of the series.” This team in the past was supported by other developers and even worked with DICE in the development of Battlefield 2042, a project from which we hope they have learned to improve what comes next.
