At Developer_Direct, Ninja Theory showed off new footage of its upcoming third-person action game The Saga of Senua: Hellblade II.
Along with the new images, the UK-based studio also revealed the game’s release date, confirming that the rumors were true. Hellblade II goes on sale May 21, 2024. In an interesting move, they have been very transparent and upfront about what exactly Hellblade II will be.
Instead of another third-person action adventure with RPG mechanics, The game is intended to be very similar (but much more accomplished) than the first. Hellblade II will last approximately 8 hours and, more interestingly, will be a digital game, like the recent Alan Wake II.
With curiosity, all images show black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, suggesting a very cinematic aspect ratio. This is used as a presentation method to maximize graphics.
We’ve seen a lot of Hellblade II since its initial presentation alongside the Xbox Series There have been many debates about what gaming is and what it is not.. It’s good to see a development team sharing all information and therefore creating reasonable expectations. As indicated Ninja Theory Studio Director Dom Matthews has one goal: “to create life-changing art with game-changing technology.”
The Ninja Theory team also posted a blog about the game on the official Xbox Wire page. The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming and Game Pass.
