Resident Evil Village has the highest number of players from the horror franchise on Steam and ranks 9th.
According to the Steam statistics page, Resident Evil Village is currently in the top 10 most played games on Steam. The game has passed the 100,000 simultaneous player mark, placing it ninth on the list. Quite an achievement for a day of release. The top spots on the Top 10 Most Played Games List on Steam are often led by Counter Strike: GO, DOTA 2, PUBG, Grand Theft Auto V, and Rust. It’s also worth noting that Resident Evil Village is currently the only single player title in the top 10 list.
Compared to the rest of the Resident Evil franchise, Village far exceeds the number of players to date. According to video game industry analyst Benjisales on Twitter, most previous Resident Evil releases have hit a fraction of Village’s player count. Resident Evil 7 tops out at just 20,449 players. Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake have far more impressive numbers with 74,227 and 60,293 players at the top, respectively.
Resident Evil 8 Village has just set a new franchise record for the highest concurrent player of all time on Steam. Looks like a huge start
