The Embracer Group plans to create an archive of historical video games, consoles and accessories called the Embracer Games Archive.
The Embracer Group, which has attracted attention in recent months through various takeovers of top-class developer studios, announces a new project called Embracer Games Archive.
Like on the official website is an archive of historical video games, consoles and accessories, with the aim of capturing the history of games.
There are currently 50,000 games, consoles and accessories in the archive in Karlstad, Sweden. The next step is to build a database and start cataloging the collection. Cooperation with archive initiatives, museums, researchers and journalists is planned for the future.
In the long term, the Embracer Group plans to exhibit parts of the collection on site as well as in other locations via satellite exhibitions.
In order to complete the Embracer Game Archive, or at least to get closer to completion, the company relies on the purchase of large, complete, unique collections.
Anyone willing to sell their video game, console, or accessory collection to the company can contact Retro Gaming Advisor Thomas Sunhede at [email protected] to contact.
