Is this store…cursed?
Have you always wanted to own your own shop in the wizarding world? Hogwarts LegacyHogsmeade is home to a boarded-up shop that was inaccessible until now. After downloading the Summer Update, players will see Penny the house elf sweeping outside this building shortly after the game’s winter season begins. Talking to her will begin a new quest full of mystery, intrigue, and spooky moments. There’s also a nice set of rewards – including the shop itself and a fancy shopkeeper’s outfit – for players who venture into the depths of the strange shop. We don’t want to spoil any surprises here, but watch out for tricks and traps after you go through the trapdoor. All is not as it seems in Madam Mason’s shop.
Imagine this
Photo mode was one of the most requested features of Hogwarts Legacy fans, and we are excited to finally bring it to the game! Students at Hogwarts can now let their creative spirit run wild as they roam around the school or experience adventures in the Scottish Highlands. The Hogwarts Legacy Photo mode is easily accessed by pausing the game and tapping the X button. There you will have access to numerous camera features, filters and effects, frames and other options to help you take the perfect photo.
With the ability to hide NPCs and your own character, choose a different pose for your avatar (even sitting!), adjust the time of day and year, and add a variety of visual filters, you can instantly capture all your memories of the Wizarding World, be it a thrilling duel with a dark wizard, a moment with Peeves in the hallway between classes, or a peaceful landscape view at sunset over the Black Lake.
Reset your talent points
Another frequently requested feature was the ability to reset your talent points to try out different builds and playstyles, or simply undo talents that aren’t useful to you. For 200 gold per talent point, you can now reset your talents either individually or all of them to try out different talent combinations and start your adventure in the wizarding world in a new way. To reset your talent points, pause the game and go to the Talents section of the Field Guide where you’ll find this new feature.
New cosmetics
We couldn’t just give you a mission, a photo mode, and a new feature without throwing in a few new cosmetic things in the update too! The all-new Azkaban Coat and Azkaban Prisoner Outfit give you a decidedly grim look, mimicking the ragged style of a famous prisoner who will escape from Azkaban 100 years after your own adventures in Hogwarts Legacy.
Our Hogwarts Legacy Easter egg video introduced The Goggles That Lived last year, but they weren’t available in-game at the time. After numerous questions from fans about how to get these round, taped goggles that resemble those from The Boy Who Lived, we’ve finally made them available to everyone. You’ll also get the Onyx Hippogriff mount, the Felix Felicis potion recipe, and the brand new Lavender Borealis broom with a new dark apparition trail effect. Of course, this update also includes several bug fixes and optimizations for Hogwarts Legacy.
The free Hogwarts Legacy Summer 2024 Update is now available to download on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Share your favorite Photo Mode shots with us using #CaptureTheUnwritten and let us know if you were brave enough to face the mysteries beneath Madam Mason’s shop.
