I’m Josep Monzonís, a solo indie game developer, and I love playing and making games. I like making games with a very personal style. That’s why I’m responsible for all aspects of the video game manufacturing process: pixel art, coding, game design, and drawing. I’ve worked on several indie games though Horned knight is my last and most ambitious game; it’s been in development for a long time.
After making the game playable enough to be shown to others, I took it to some local events where indie developers met to talk about games, make friends, and learn from each other. People seemed to really enjoy playing, even as a super early demo.
I brought a build to the Valencia Indie Summit and made it available to 2Awesome Studio. I was nervous, but they were encouraging and liked the concept. It was a dream come true to develop my own game for a large console!
As a lifelong game developer, I’ve played and made games for many years, but this is my first major console version of a personal project. I’ve always been a huge fan of retro-style 2D action platformer and just had to create a game that would bring back the golden age of arcade gaming in a hardcore retro-style 2D action platformer.
