How the developers of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 introduced Future Saga

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 celebrated his 7th^th Anniversary in October 2023 with a major update with new modes and in-game events. In line with the development team’s determination and will to maintain Xenoverse 2The content is fresh and new for players. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 takes a step into the future by introducing an all-new four-part saga for both Xenoverse 2 and Dragon Ball fans to enjoy Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 – Future Saga, Chapter 1 will be released on May 24, 2024, along with the release of the Xbox Series Smart delivery Technology.

Producer Jun Song recently gave us new details about what players can look forward to when Future Saga arrives Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 later this week.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America: When did you start planning the new chapter of the Future Saga?

Producer Jun Song: It was considered in the context of the plan for the major update implemented last October. To ensure, that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will be a pleasure to play for a long time to come, we added new content and made various changes in the big October update so that all users can enjoy it equally.

For similar reasons, we felt it was necessary to offer users a fresh and exciting story with a new saga. The message “Take a step towards the future” expresses the importance that comes with the October update and the upcoming new saga – Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will break with the past and move towards the next “future”.

Bandai: What is the concept of the “Future Saga”?

song: There are two main points: to decide the battle against “Fu” and to represent the battle for the “future” of the world. This concept is also expressed in the name DLC.

Until now, Fu has often conducted experiments out of curiosity, causing trouble for the protagonists and other Time Patrollers. However, since Fu himself did not do this out of malice, the protagonists were speechless every time.

In Future Saga, however, Fu acts with a clear goal in mind. And so the fight will develop into a fight for the “future” not only of the “time rift,” but also of the protagonists and the entire world.

Note for readers: The Time Rift is a tear in history caused by repeated changes to history. The interior is an alien space, but the events that take place there, for better or worse, have no bearing on the “history” of the world itself.

The Future Saga will consist of 4 chapters, each with its own story, but it would be most fun to know Fu’s story by playing through all the chapters.

Bandai: Who is “Fu” anyway?

song: Fu first appeared in the additional mission of the paid DLC Additional DLC Pack 2. He is an experimental mutant created by Dabura, who used the cells of his sister, the Demon Queen Towa, and the Demon King Mira to revive the Demon Realm.

However, Fu is only interested in experiments and research and not in reviving the Demon Realm. For this reason, he rebelled against Dabura and since then has repeatedly conducted experiments (incidents) and research on “energy generated by altered history”. The protagonists found themselves in the line of fire.

Bandai: What is the new form of “Ultra Super Villain” that was recently introduced?

song: Throughout the Xenoverse series, the “Villainous Mode” and “Supervillain” sorcery has been a source of trouble for the protagonists and Time Patrollers, but in Future Saga, the “Ultra Supervillain” sorcery is introduced.

Although it can provide enormous energy, it is also very dangerous because its influence on history is so great, but it seems that Fu intends to use this power. This “ultra supervillain” will be an important key in the entire saga, so we hope you pay attention to him.

The relationship between Fu and the protagonists is also of great interest. Fu and the protagonists have formed a strange friendship through past incidents, and this saga will focus on the relationship between the two.

song: Future Saga will tell a story that will delight Dragon Ball fans, but the DLC is also designed to be fun for those who stopped playing after completing the game.
