Since each year in the game lasts a day in real life, Castles is designed to constantly give you something new. “This is really about building a dynasty and creating a lasting legacy,” says Lafferty. “As time goes on, the player always needs to have a proper succession plan for the heir to the throne.”
“We put a lot of work into the game design to ensure that subject relationships and the length of a ruler’s reign are elements that players can work to improve. Players must also continue to improve their equipment type and level to progress in quests. This is an important mechanic in the game. We have a dynasty level system with endless rewards. Our goal is to update the game regularly with new dynasty levels, quests, events and challenges.”
