Xbox Design Lab is a one-stop shop for creating your very own controller. From the controller itself to every external component, Xbox Design Lab is a highly customizable platform that allows you to create controllers for yourself or as a truly personal gift for the Xbox gamer in your life.

Choose your controller
The key question before you start using the Xbox Design Lab is: Which Xbox controller do you want to design?

Customize components
Once you’ve chosen your controller, Xbox Design Lab gives you 10 different customization options to help you create a controller that’s unique to you. And if you can’t quite decide on the go, Xbox Design Lab always lets you preview your controller and save designs to your personal gallery, so you can create multiple options to compare before making your final decision.
Body
Applying it to the entire front of the case will make a statement with your choice of case. With the Xbox Wireless Controller, choose from a variety of matte finishes or a selection of beautiful patterns, including swirling Vapor designs, multi-colored Shift patterns, bold camo looks, our vibrant Pride design, or special game-inspired patterns Designs like that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Top Case and the Fallout top case. With the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, choose between matte finishes, our new Cipher Series – which adds a transparent shell that lets you see through the shell to the components inside, or game-inspired designs.
Back
The back panel you choose includes everything that’s behind your controller’s handles. With all standard colors available in the Case category, you can choose to match them to the front of the controller or create a two-tone pop of color.
Handles
For a small additional cost, you can add rubberized grips to the back and sides of your Xbox Wireless Controller for even more in-hand control. Rubberized grips are standard on the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2.
Bumpers
The bumper color you choose includes the two buttons on top of the controller and the housing in between. Choose from all available standard body and back colors for the Xbox Wireless Controller. Choose from a range of metallic finishes for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2.
trigger
The triggers are key to controlling many games and have several options. All standard colors are available for the Xbox Wireless Controller, but Xbox Design Lab also offers a variety of metallic options that allow you to add a statement accent to the rest of the design. With the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, choose from a range of metallic designs to coordinate with your bumpers, or choose a different shade to create a standout design.
D pad
Choose from any of the standard colors available in other categories or a metallic hue on the Xbox Wireless Controller. With the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, choose between the classic four-way D-pad or our unique faceted design for added control. Both D-Pad choices offer a variety of single-color metallic finishes, or choose our new multi-color Chroma designs for a truly standout look.
Thumbsticks
On the Xbox Wireless Controller, the thumbsticks can take on any of the standard colors available on the rest of the controller. Take more control with the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – choose the color of the metal base, plus separate colors for the thumbstick ring and cover.
ABXY buttons
Choose from seven different designs for the iconic Xbox buttons on the Xbox Wireless Controller, from classic color looks to various two-tone treatments. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 gives you even more choice with 20 different treatments, including colored variants to help you create even more specific looks.

For the finishing touch, you can add 16 character engraving on both controller types. Add a name, gamertag or personal message to make the controller your own.
Choose a pre-made design
If you’re looking to create a controller to celebrate a specific game, we may already have what you need. The Xbox Design Lab is constantly adding new ones “Inspired by” designs Celebrate the games on Xbox – choose a pre-configured theme, make any changes you see fit and show off your fan base. There is also the Xbox Design Lab Game Collection, which contains very special designs for games such as: B. offers Stand out And Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – everything can be individually adjusted.
Choose some elite extras
If you choose an Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, Xbox Design Lab offers a number of additional customizable elements for the premium controller, all of which can be adapted to your design. With the carrying case and charging package, you can safely take your controller anywhere. The Paddle Pack adds a range of easy-to-add additional paddles for the back of your controller, which can be used by adjusting the options on your console. The Thumbsticks and D-Pad Pack offers both D-Pad options and multiple interchangeable thumbsticks, allowing you to change the way you want to play game by game. And the Everything Pack includes everything mentioned above in a single package. If you already own an Elite Series 2 controller, you can also choose to purchase it additional accessory packages by itself.
Adaptive thumbstick toppers
We worked with community members, charities and a hospital involved in adaptive gaming and 3D printing to develop a free design 3D printable files for adaptive thumbstick toppers with Xbox Design Lab. These designs are available for download and can be 3D printed to create thumbsticks that meet various accessibility needs. They are available for both the Xbox Wireless Controller and the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. Xbox Design Lab also offers thumbstick topper designs for the upcoming Xbox Adaptive Joystick, releasing in early 2025 for select Xbox markets.
