How to get the Gjallarhorn and its catalyst?

Catalyst, Gjallarhorn

We know that there are many guides on YouTube on how to get or complete things in Destiny 2. They are practically essential for many Guardians including myself and sometimes have this capture with the image of the buttons to press, sometimes this is something totally necessary. But precisely with this experience, I also know that having it in a publication with a simple text is sometimes worth it. And so we will have the new Gjallarhorn.

We don’t need to know exactly where the button is, but sometimes only a few small instructions are needed, so we’ll try to give you some quick guides to getting as much Exotic Gear as we are to overcoming the weird Dungeon or Raid. So without further ado, let’s get going.

How to get the new Gjallarhorn Exotic Rocket Launcher

The first thing to note is that we will only be eligible for the “Claws of Greed” dungeon and therefore the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher if we have purchased the Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack.

  1. Go to the cosmodrome and talk to Shaw han. He will give us the mission “And fly with the wolves”.
  2. To accomplish this mission, we must complete the new dungeon “Claws of greed.”
  3. Once finished, they will give us the “Wolfpack Ammunition”
  4. Back to the Cosmodrome and we give it to Shaw han. He will tell us that we must defeat 7 powerful fallen in the same Cosmodrome (including those with the yellow life bar). The best way is to search for the Lost Garden Sector 2A, where we will finish it until we get this mission.
  5. We still see Shaw han. This will send you to see Banshee-44 at the tower.
  6. Once again, we return to the cosmodrome. Exactly, up to the sector indicated as Lost Garden 2A. It’s in the segment called ‘The Division’, however, the exotic icon is shown on the map. Mark it and follow the path.
  7. Once the Lost Sector is over, we return to see Shaw Han and he will ask us to mount him right in the room behind him.
  8. Talk to him again and … The Gjallarhorn is yours!

How to get the Gjallarhorn Exotic Rocket Launcher Catalyst

As with other Exotic weapon catalysts, this may require a bit more work. But fear not, because it’s super easy. Simply, after obtaining it, we have to visit the “Claws of Avarice” dungeon again, but this time we have to be very careful of two things: Vandals with a large health bar and chests that we can only open thanks to the main mechanic of it: Obtaining the buff “Weight of wealth”.

That is, we have to look for 3 Vandals (not the ones carrying the incinerator cannon) in the mentioned areas and when they harm them they release an engram which gives us the “Weight of the richness “. After that we will have the relevant 30 seconds, before dying in the attempt, to get to the corresponding chest and be able to open it. With the 3 chests open, he will provide us with the catalyst for Gjallarhorn.

  1. The first location is right after the first loot cave. It's a cave and after a first jump the Vandal will appear in the background. The chest will be just above our heads at the crossing site.
  2. The second will be after passing the puzzle area of the 4 doors of the blue area, just before reaching the first boss, Phry'zhia the Insatiable. It's a big room with water below where you have to look just to the right below, where there is a ledge with the chest. Shoot the vandal and open the chest.
  3. The third is perhaps the most elaborate, because you will have to quit completely and completely Fallen Shield area cleared, the enormous space in which we will have to launch ourselves from one island to another. When completed, a Vandal will appear right in the background area (in the attached image is where my companions are). When taking the buff we will have to launch towards the middle island and just above the tallest building will be the catalyst.

Once obtained, you only have to do 400 kills with the Gjallarhorn to activate it, and voila! you already have the most powerful weapon in the game right now.
