In this second part, let’s take a look at what the demos of these eight titles are worth:
Castle on the coast
I wasn’t expecting that when I started this demo. A 3D platform game with cheesy graphics. A bastard mix of cel shading with slightly more realistic characters, which the retina no longer likes. But the most important thing is the handling. That from Castle on the coast is not very accurate, but that doesn’t turn it off. The levels aren’t a chore, but I didn’t particularly enjoy them. Unfortunately, we don’t have to look any further in this forgotten title.

Chenso Club
The only thing that stands out from a Lambda platformer in Chense Club, it’s kawaii retro graphic paw. Apart from that, I unfortunately didn’t like going through the short and numerous levels of this demo. The story is as anecdotal as it is silly. The fights repeat themselves quickly, despite a fairly wide range of blows. After 15 minutes of playing, I felt like I had seen everything the title had to offer. In the end he left me unmoved, what a shame.

Demon lawn
Published by Playtonic Friends (the developers of Yooka-Laylee), Demon lawn has been available in the store for over a month. This 3D platform title, a little too generic in its gameplay, tries to stand out through its artistic direction. A 2D hero in a three-dimensional world that cannot be thought of Paper mario as far as the graphics are concerned. However, the atmosphere is boring. Fortunately, the handling holds up and the title offers some great ideas like character transformations that give it specific abilities. To see what is there in the long run and especially when it is worth its 25 dollars. (yes it’s still dearly paid for an independent game)

Grid Force – mask of the goddess
Quite a fascinating concept with its fights mixing strategy and action. It is not without remembering One step from Eden, recently entered the Game Pass, but Lattice force brings its own touch. A grid appears on the screen and you have to juggle between positioning (to dodge and target an enemy), vulnerability (six elements of attack, each with a strength and weakness), reflexes and anticipation. In fact, you control a character in a team of four and can switch at any time in combat. This way you can vary your attacks and heal those that are not on the battlefield. The concept is interesting, but hopefully it won’t turn out anytime soon.

Josh Journey: Darkness Totems
If you liked it Castle fights, it is very possible that this is Josh trip deserves your attention. If the universe has nothing to do with it at first, we’ll have the same gameplay and cartoon graphics. There is also the possibility of alternating between four characters, each with their own skills and maneuverability (close combat, distance, falling on the ground …). The demo for this beat’em up bodes well. Will be reviewed upon release, initially on an unknown date.

Octopus Academy !!
This short demo is unforgettable. A completely barred universe, colorful characters, more than unusual situations, hilarious dialogues, Octopus Academy !! has many qualities. The history ? It starts on your first day at your new high school, and step by step you have to save the world. Just that. If the characters appear manga-style during the dialogues, the game will be in pretty tasteless pixel art. The only negative point I found during this demo is at the end. Very intrigued and looking forward to getting your hands on the complete game.

Lonely village
Don’t be fooled by the childish graphics, Lonely village don’t take your hand. With its rather subtle hints and its not-so-easy puzzles, the title can spin in circles for a few minutes. We start, a little lost, in the middle of an abandoned village, with no real goal. After we finally managed to enter the dungeon, we are faced with an exam per floor. Very varied and interesting, they are pleasant to pick up. The somewhat difficult dealings with the hero, however, cooled me down a bit.

Prey flow
A prevention message when the demo starts indicates that this version is running in an identical run for all users. As a matter of fact, Prey flow As a procedural roguelite, it was necessary for developers to make sure everyone had the best experience. However, if the idea of being able to move the platforms with the right stick is really ultra-effective, the fighting at the Dark souls that I didn’t appreciate at all. However, the universe is amazing and I think we’ll hear a lot about this game when it comes out.
