Since Microsoft officially revealed the Xbox Developer Direct 2024 event, speculation about which titles will be part of the presentation has not stopped. With studios like Machinegames and Ninja Theory on stage, the showcase promises a diversity of projects, and now all eyes are on Playground Games and its highly anticipated by all, Fable.
Fable’s account received a similar update to Avowed’s. Although at the moment it does not mean anything concrete, it is plausible to think that the reboot of the famous Action RPG saga in the Microsoft ecosystem could join the Direct line-up at the beginning of the year. The development team indirectly supported this hypothesis: Playground Games has hired 18 new employees.
The fable could be very close
What’s intriguing is the diversity of roles that have been filled by the new staff: from Tier 1 character artist, to cinematic lighting artist, to tools engineer, l lead UI engineer, environment artist and more. Is there a link between Fable, the next Microsoft event and these hires? For now, the mystery will be solved next week during Xbox Developer Direct 2024 on January 18.
