I think we can start calling it “343IndustriesGate” now, because what’s going on with this studio and the whole Halo part is pretty sad. The release of Halo Infinite was the turning point for Microsoft to decide to give less importance which for decades has been its flagship.
The studio has gone through personnel changes, layoffs, and changes to the board and roadmap for the most recent Halo Infinite. So it’s safe to say that the franchise isn’t going through its finest moment. Some people blame the study 100%, and some people just believe it’s the end of the cycle and nothing else.
Halo Waypoint says goodbye to its forums
Today we have to add another bad news, incomprehensible to many. 343 business sectors close your forum Waypoint officials for an alleged downturn. A difficult decision to understand, given that It’s okay for them to have them open. The closure of the forums also means the loss of many user stories, comments and much more.
The official Waypoint forums close on the 31st, you have until that date to save whatever content you have if you want to save it. Few voices complain that this is a way to silence negative comments, after all having everything on Discord prevents anyone from freely accessing forums and reading user complaints. Here are the justifications for closing the study:
We at Waypoint have seen this change affect our official forums as overall usage has continued to decline. During this time, we’ve seen steady growth in other areas, especially our social media channels and our Halo Discord 54 server, as our community team strives to get to know players better where they are.
Given this ongoing change in player behavior, preferences, and general usage, we have made the decision to discontinue the Halo Waypoint Forums at the end of this month. On Monday, March 20, we will put the forums on read-only mode as a transition step before closing permanently on Friday, March 31. If you have content and memorabilia in these forums that you would like to preserve, please take steps to back it up and archive it by March 31.
For years, these forums served as a community gathering place where we shared our passions for Halo, shared feedback, engaged in lively discussions, helped each other with problems, and fostered friendships. Thank you to everyone who has contributed along the way and been part of the Waypoint community. In particular, I want to give a special thanks to our Waypoint forum moderators who have worked tirelessly to help make these forums a safe and welcoming space for everyone, simply out of mutual love and passion for Halo and this community.
At 343 Industries, our commitment to the Halo community has not changed: we will continue to listen to you, engage, gather your feedback, provide updates, and help resolve support issues.
If you want to access an active gaming forum, I recommend Come here.
