With the Indie Box, the entire XboxSquad editorial team offers you mini reviews of very little known or featured indie games. While some don’t deserve to step out of the shadows of the Xbox Marketplace, others might be worth a look. That is the whole subject of this section.
8Doors Arum’s afterlife adventure is a Metroidvania in 2D, served by enchanting graphics. The action takes place in the purgatory of Korean folklore, where the heroine is in search of her father. The opportunity to face strange but not scary creatures and meet strange NPCs, but in a good way. Which, in my opinion, should also appeal to a young audience and/or beginners. This impression is reinforced by its presence on top of the normal difficulty levela “story” mode
I loved :
- The great aesthetic, a beautiful tribute to Korean folklore
- A lovable Metroidvania with equally lovable NPCs
- Two levels of difficulty: Normal and Story
- Interface and subtitles in French
I’m sorry :
- I no longer have time for this work 🙁
