With the Indie Box, the entire XboxSquad editorial team offers you mini reviews of very little known or featured indie games. While some don’t deserve to step out of the shadows of the Xbox Marketplace, others might be worth a look. That is the whole subject of this section.
What a time when the 16-bit generation was all the same… So many great licenses were born or unveiled there. Unfortunately, others could not cope with the arrival of 3D and disappeared. Among all these titles were many action/platform games. Although modern, Original Light in is an excellent representative.
With revenge as a backdrop (yes, you need a reason to go and slaughter monsters), our adventure will take place across ten terribly old-fashioned levels in their construction. We spawn, we explore to find power-ups by killing enemies, we encounter the boss. Bim, next level. Very old school! The difficulty is there, sometimes quite uneven, but nothing insurmountable.
The set is pretty pretty and we’ll traverse the levels in no time without thinking. It’s only the bosses that will give you trouble, though Once their patterns are known, you’ll quickly eliminate them. as good as it is Original Light but won’t keep you busy for long. A small handful of hours depending on your skills but smells of nostalgia. Note for amateurs.
I remember :
- Detailed and colorful graphics
- Very smooth animation
- And the challenge
I am sorry :
- That it didn’t come out a few years (decades) earlier
