With the Indie Box, the entire XboxSquad editorial team offers you mini reviews of very little known or featured indie games. While some don’t deserve to step out of the shadows of the Xbox Marketplace, others might be worth a look. That is the whole subject of this section.
After my exam Kingdom Rush Last month I have to admit that I was kind of excited about the idea of covering yet another tower defense for our “Indie Box” section. Gross misjudgment on my part.
First of all, the crystals that defend the area are mobile and you can not only place them where you want, but also keep them with you. Because yes, you yourself are on the ground and defenseless at least at the beginning. In addition to the waves of enemies spawning around the edges of the map, other threats periodically hang from the flanks above you, so keep your eyes peeled.
Then the developments of the character and your crystals will not depend on the number of enemies killed, but on bullets spawning on the map. It’s up to you to run to pick them up, forcing you to stay mobile and abandon your defenses for a few seconds. But without orbs, no upgrades! And that’s where it gets very funny, because you can choose from a fairly large list of upgrades, but only one item at a time. Knowing that the following ones will systematically cost more bullets. It’s up to you to see what upgrades you unlock and in what order based on urgency, need and your preferences.
road stones offers a total of 12 levels that will keep you going for a handful of hours that you won’t see go by. For the laziest, there’s even a cheat code that you can use to gain XP or even level up at will.
I appreciated:
- An interesting and accessible concept
- 1000G fast
I’m sorry :
