The complex, unique story of INDIKA and a strong woman from developer Odd Meter is now playable on PC. Console version coming!
INDIKA, the latest title from 11 bit studios publishing division, is set in a surreal version of early 20th century Russia and is about the bizarre and spiritual journey of a simple nun. Players can accompany her on this journey and immerse herself in the treacherous nature of INDIKA’s story and gameplay.
As the launch trailer beautifully depicts, INDIKA is the story of a strong woman on a vital mission: to explore her true purpose in life. But beneath the surface and the easy to understand upper layers, lies the soul and its depths waiting to be explored.
INDIKA offers more than meets the eye, combining gameplay elements of third-person adventure games – including mind-bending environmental puzzles and even a touch of platforming.
Aesthetics, design and gameplay were heavily influenced by this mix of genres. However, the true essence lies in the cinematic story, which is reminiscent of arthouse works by Yorgos Lanthimos, Ari Aster, and Darren Aronofsky. INDIKA focuses on its core mission by touching on philosophical beliefs and encouraging reflection on sensitive topics.
INDIKA is released for PC, with console versions coming later this month (PS5, XSX|S).
A portion of INDIKA’s proceeds will be donated to needy children affected by the war in Ukraine.
