Not long ago, I told you about the data collected by Truetrophies, a website that is essentially a Playstation account tracker. The data collected by this website must be proactive, that is, the user must register for the service to be tracked. So take all of this with caution and as a guideline and not as something absolute.
However, your data helps understand user behavior, at least proportionally, as they have sister service Trueachivements which basically does the same thing, although the sample of active users is smaller than that of active users of Playstation consoles. We know about 25 million on Xbox and more than 3 million on PS5.
The questi on is: will this data be worth the Xbox identity crisis?
Today we’re talking about Pentiment, and its arrival on rival Xbox consoles. As I said, this data will not be exact, but it gives us an overall picture of the trend. And in this case, the trend in the Sony community regarding Pentiment is that the game is too niche and doesn’t seem to be as well received as in the Xbox community.
For comparison, to date the game has only been played and followed by 41 players on that service, while during a similar period on Xbox, Trueachivements recorded almost 3,000 players. The difference is quite big between the platforms. An interesting fact is that only 10 people have won more than 10 trophiesand from this sample, I’m confident there will be plenty of copies for journalists to review when analyzing the PS5 and PS4 versions.
Game Pass helped its visibility
Of course there is cheating here, Pentiment was launched on Game Pass and that works in its favor, and it must also be said that it went on sale on Sony consoles on February 22.
According to Trueachievements, Pentiment has been played by over 28,500 players on Xbox. Here again, it must be taken into account that the number will not be accurate and that adds to PC gamers. But despite all this, and even if we didn’t take it into account, the difference is so abysmal that we wonder, would it have been worth Microsoft to risk part of its brand reputation for this type of data? ? Personally, I want the game to run as well as possible, but given what we’ve seen, it doesn’t look like it’s going to be even close to what was achieved on the American machines.
