One of the biggest surprises of the last edition of the Game Awards was Jurassic Park: Survival, a new single-player FPS set in the famous dinosaur universe. Although the presentation is a first look at the game, it promises a lot, and its developer, Saber Interactive gave more details on the title this week.
Speaking to IGN, Universal and Saber revealed that players will “revisit iconic locations from the 1993 film.”, including “locations that were only hinted at in the film, but never seen.” That is what he said Universal’s John Melchior during an internal Q&A with Saber:
“We worked with all of our stakeholders to determine what the island would have looked like after the events of the film. This includes areas we all love like the Visitor Center and T-Rex Meadow. But also, what we didn’t see, things that weren’t part of the route or that were cut off by the storm.
This is where we start. One thing is certain: the island is as much a part of the story as the characters and the dinosaurs.
Saber’s Oliver Hollis-Leick also talked about some of Jurassic Park: Survival’s gameplay features.: The subtitle of the game gives us an idea of what we can expect in this regard.
“The island is full of different types of terrain, many of which are quite difficult. In some cases, the player will have to act with caution and planning, checking routes in advance. There will also be times when the player will need to move very carefully through an environment to avoid the attention of certain predators.
We definitely want to see a real game as soon as possible, but we don’t expect to see much more in the short term.
Although the team has not yet set a release date, can confirm that Jurassic Park: Survival will not be released in 2024you will therefore have to wait patiently for the park to open to new survivors on Xbox.
