In weeks where there is little news given the arrival of the end of 2023. Bandai Namco continues its promotional campaign for the launch of Tekken 8, the latest installment of its star fighting franchise which will debut in January 2024.
On this occasion we have the opportunity to see to the beloved Kuma bear, who is not even remotely the same as the one from the first title according to the game’s own story. The first Kuma was the protagonist of the first two installments of Tekken, and then, apparently, He died of old age and his son, Kuma 2, took his place.which is the one that appeared in every other episode from Tekken 3 onwards.
A bear with a story
The common denominator between the characters is that they were both Heihachi Mishima’s bodyguards and Kuma 2 has a personal confrontation with Paul Phoenix. In the video shared by the developers you can see some movements of the friendly bear as well as an interesting presentation in which he appears to propose marriage to a panda.

Tekken 8 will have 32 selectable characters at launch, including Kuma and the aforementioned Panda. Among the selection team, many will be already known characters while 3 of them make their debut in this episode: Victor Chevalier, Azucena Milagros Ortiz Castillo and Reina. Some rumors already indicate that Roger, Xiao Meng, Armor King and Eddy Gordo would arrive during the first season of the Battle Pass.
