After the release of the new adaptation of Layers of fearthe talented studio, Bloober Team will end the development of psychological horror games. To date, all their projects have been structured on specific bases and today they want to evolve by putting land on the path of the formula that has led them to success.
The study explained that they want to grow up Bloober 3.0 Team and for that they have to put the past aside, that does not mean that I have stopped developing games, by the way, at the moment they are working on Silent Hill and it seems that this new project will be the one that will help them to make the bend they are looking for in their own way to create horror experiences.
Bloober Team reinvents itself
This year will mark the end of our psychological horror development. Right now, we’re entering the Bloober Team 3.0 phase, where we’re going to be doing mainstream horror. So far we have focused on story, atmosphere, visual quality and music, but we have never focused on game mechanics. That was not our goal. But then we realized we really couldn’t do it without something really new.
As you can read in the quote above, the commented shift the study wants to make is more mass market focused, this means they need to focus more on other areas such as gameplay, mechanics and other formulas that correspond to your new work perspective.
