Runs a game studio and follows development in the game dev simulator Let’s Build a Dungeon.
Independent development studio Springloaded, best known for the simulation hit Let’s Build a Zoo, today announced a new, multi-layered management simulation set in the world of game development.
Let’s Build a Dungeon invites players to run their own game studio and develop a virtual MMORPG that can accommodate hordes of heroes.
This creative management simulation is coming to PC and Xbox and is now available on Steam.
Let’s Build a Dungeon builds on Springloaded’s experience in developing deep yet accessible simulation games and introduces a new game studio setting to deliver a management simulation like no other.
The players run a young game studio and develop an MMORPG that satisfies the ever-growing player base – while at the same time making sure that investors are happy and the development team does its job.
Features
- Design and develop an MMO to be filled with hordes of virtual players
- Manages the day-to-day operations of a game studio, from hiring and firing employees to keeping investors happy
- Attract new virtual players by expanding the world, developing new quests and monitoring players’ journeys
- Develop new items, environments and mechanisms throughout the campaign
- You can alw ays run playtests to see the world through a player’s eyes.
- Combines different quest styles for infinite replayability
- Create a custom RPG world with thousands of items or design your own assets
- Have difficult conversations with shareholders, employees, players and publishers to make meaningful decisions that impact the studio’s success
As all game developers know, a studio doesn’t run itself! Hire employees, rent an office, manage project deadlines, negotiate with shareholders, pitch to publishers for investment, and perform many other important tasks.
Leads the company from an insignificant indie studio to a development powerhouse in a humorous but realistic look at the current games industry.
Let’s Build a Dungeon combines meaningful decision-making with deep management simulation gameplay, inspired by Springloaded’s experiences over the last 12 years as an independent studio.
There are many sensible (and sometimes ethical…) decisions to be made. Players can choose to force longer working hours to meet deadlines or ignore pressure from investors to protect the development team.
Will the studio develop a monster-catching RPG, a cozy farming simulator, or a brand new experience that combines elements from multiple genres?
By designing quests, building environments, and creating custom assets, players can create the ultimate RPG that meets the demands of their audience while navigating the sometimes ridiculous challenges of running a studio.
The game will be released for PC and Xbox in collaboration with Kowloon Nights. More information about the features will be announced during the Xbox livestream at gamescom on August 21st.
Let’s Build a Dungeon will also be playable on the Xbox booth at gamescom.
