Parchment of Fallen Lords

Launched on October 13, Lords of the Fallen (our analysis here) has just received a new update. The game was very well received by specialist critics and the most “darksoulian” community seems satisfied with what it received CI Games. NOW, the game receives a new patch in which, in addition to correcting errors, it adds important new features.

The main new features are receiving two new tutorial slots for Soulflay and Siphoning, while spells and magic-infused weapons have been rebalanced for PvP. Those struggling with platforming in Pilgrim’s Hanger can expect better stats, while PvP has received balancing adjustments to spells and magic weapons. However, PvE has not changed. Soulflay and Siphoning now have tutorial points in Redcopse for a more accessible learning environment. The Lightreaper has also disappeared from the tutorial area, although it is still present in New Game Plus.

Fallen Lords Patch Notes

Gameplay Improvements

  • Troop Density: Based on your feedback, we’ve adjusted some crowd encounters to create a more fluid and immersive combat experience, isolating instances to prevent crowds from gathering.
  • Ranged Enemies: We adjusted the perception of some ranged units to resolve cases that seemed unfair or unrealistic.
  • Jumps: Pilgrim’s Perch platforms have been refined with improved gauges, making jumps clearer and navigation smoother.
  • PvP Scaling: To improve skill-based play in PvP, we have rebalanced the scaling mechanics, particularly when it comes to magic-infused weapons and spells. These adjustments apply exclusively to PvP, so PvE players can continue with their current builds unaffected.
  • Attack Knockback: Some weapon attacks have received slight adjustments to reduce knockback, providing a greater sense of control while maintaining effectiveness and supporting your playstyle.

A more immersive Umbral Realm for explorers

Umbral, the parallel realm closely linked to the living world of Axiom, is accessible at any point in the game, offering a vast world of alternate paths, hidden treasures and secrets. We know how much you love exploring Mournstead, and many of you have asked us for an easier Umbral realm to explore. With this idea, we made some adjustments to improve its immersion and preserve its mysterious and stimulating character.

These changes make Umbral better suited to exploration, while retaining its haunting intensity and stimulating atmosphere:

  • Dynamic Ambient Sound: The initial entrance into Threshold is now accompanied by more subtle soundscapes, which increase in intensity the longer you stay, reaching a crescendo before you have to find an exit or risk facing the Crimson Reaper.
  • Adjusted Enemy Spawn Curve: Enemy spawns are now better timed to create a gradual, smoother build-up of tension.
  • Increased Scarlet Shadow delay: You will now have more time to explore before Scarlet Shadow appears, increasing the suspense.
  • Reduced Vignette Effect: Based on player feedback, the vignette effect has been softened to improve visibility when exploring Umbral.
  • Lighter Umbral Eggs: We’ve added a special visual effect to eggs depicting Umbral natives.
  • These updates create a richer exploration experience in Threshold, preserving its dark charm and increasing the tension for the most daring adventurers.

Performance Improvements

We’ve implemented additional performance improvements in several of the most graphically demanding areas of the game, optimizing the experience for players with lower-performance computers.
