Konami has released an update, 1.4.0, for the PC version of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. The game released less than two months ago has arrived on consoles Xbox Series, Ps4, Ps5 and Switch as well. The update for console versions will arrive in January 2024. While it is true that this update implements improvements, these are minor and we expect more of a remastering, which, to be honest, is too poor.
Below we leave you the best that this update implements:
PARA METAL GEAR SOLID 1:
- New screen adjustment functions have been added.
- Smooth. It can be enabled or disabled. Softens the image when turned on and produces a sharp image when turned off.
- Game screen settings
- It can be set to “Standard”, “Pixel Perfect” or “16:9”.
- The Steam version of the game also includes “Full Screen” functionality. It can be set to a total of four settings: “Standard”, “Pixel Perfect”, “16:9” or “Full Screen”.
- The wallpaper, display area and screen filter functions are also available when using the “Standard” or “Pixel Perfect” functions.
- It can be enabled or disabled. Applies a filter that displays scanlines like those on a CRT TV when enabled.
- An audio configuration function has been added.
- The game volume and main menu volume can be changed before starting to play. You can only change the game volume during gameplay.
- Added a function to customize the response speed of the controller (Steam). You can choose between “Fast” (new!) and “Stable”. Some configurations may experience unstable performance when set to “Fast”. If you encounter such problems, change the settings to “Stable”.
- A fix has been applied so that the game prioritizes user-defined button layouts (Steam).
- Fixed other minor issues.
