Matt Booty talks about the future of the Giants after the departure of Rod Fergusson

Rod Fergusson's march for The Coalition has been one of the most important news this week and it's no small feat. Fergusson has been in the Gears of War franchise since 2006 with epic games and has continued his career following the Bleszinski exit and transitioning to The Coalition. It is common for some concerns to arise when a channel manager leaves the product, even if it is said in this way it sounds very scary. Fergusson tried to leave the studio when the Gears 5 was launched and the road to Gears 6, through Gears Tactics, was well described.

Moderate The Gaming Industry interviewed Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, about Rod Fergusson's development and What does this mean for both Coalition and Gears. The first thing Booty did was to make sure the situation was right and that without Fergusson's leaving all the pieces were where they should be.

"Although unfortunately we lost Rod, it still makes sense from a production standpoint, because the game (Gears Tactics) already exists"

With a proper interpretation of Roadmap of Gears 5 and Gears Tactics, Fergusson tried to get everything tied up properly before leaving. Matt Booty goes on to talk about the future of The Coalition.

“The Coalition is a global skills group. We are very fortunate that the leadership team is made up of a large number of veterans. We are in a great position at The Coalition and it gives us the opportunity to go out and look for a new leader to learn and design for the future. ”

The only conclusion we can get is that things in the Coalition are going well and their current state is solid. A situation that allows them to deal with their director's progress and be able to find someone else to take their place. Cliff Bleszinski, the father of the Battlefield series, wanted to participate as a franchise coordinator, even though he didn't replace Rod.

Gears Tactis is the next Gears Tactical title to come out and we will do it on April 28th.
