Meet Kiriko, Overwatch’s newest support heroine!

The Kanezaka Fox Girl has finally been unveiled! Kiriko rushes in surveillance 2 as the newest support hero. Read on to learn more about Kiriko and prepare for her arrival in-game on October 4th.

Kiriko grew up in Kanezaka, where her family has maintained the town shrine for generations. She was raised by both her mother and grandmother, both of whom instilled important values ​​in her from a young age. Her grandmother taught her about the Kanezaka shrine and the fox spirit, as well as the importance of preserving traditions and respecting ancient customs. Her mother was a fierce ninja who trained fan favorites Genji and Hanzo. Kiriko eventually trained alongside them, learning to fight for herself and protect her community.

As a natural trickster, fans should have an ear for her in-game voice acting. She doesn’t shy away and hits everyone with her dry and witty sense of humour.

Kiriko brings a balanced, youthful flair to the world of Overwatch. She respects tradition while understanding the benefits of change and progress in a modern world. Fiercely loyal, she is not afraid to go against the grain to protect her city and those she loves.

Kiriko’s wit shines through in her gear, with most of her abilities stemming from her intelligence and her ability to read others and gauge their actions.

The early idea for Kiriko was to create a dual damage and support hero who could support her team with both gentle healing and deadly precision. The result was an ability kit that was both rewarding for experienced players who have mastered precision and accessible to newer players looking for an accessible healing kit.

Primary – Healing Ofuda

Kiriko uses Ofudas to heal her teammates and fires up to ten of the talismans at once. As a single-target healing ability, the spells are airy and slow, attracting the calm she was instilled by helping her grandmother at Kanezaka Shrine. Players should pay close attention to distance, as the farther you are from your teammates, the longer it will take the Ofudas to travel to them and heal.

Secondary – Kunai

Kiriko’s secondary shows what she learned from her mother. Kunai are small knives that she throws one at a time. Her kunai has low overall damage but can deal additional critical damage.

Passive – wall climbing

Since she’s studying alongside Genji and Hanzo, it’s only natural that Kiriko picked up Wall Climb. This ability allows her to scale walls, making it much easier for Kiriko to bypass the map to offer healing for teammates or a knife for enemies.

Fast step

For allies who need help within a certain distance, Swift Step allows Kiriko to teleport directly to them (even through walls!). Players must acquire a target before moving.

protection Suzu

The Protection Suzu is a small, bell-shaped projectile that grants invulnerability to allies for a short time and removes negative status effects. It takes effect when it hits the ground or an ally directly, protecting all allies within a small area of ​​effect. The Protection Suzu can even benefit Kiriko by throwing them at her feet.

Ultimate – Kitsune Rush

Let Kitsune guide you! When activated, Kiriko’s Ultimate summons her loyal fox spirit to charge forward, trailing a path of torii gates. On the fenced path, the Ultimate provides both Kiriko and her allies with a temporary buff, as well as a speed increase on all actions, including movement, fire rate, and cooldown.
