Mercenaries arrive in spring 2021

The fifth iteration of the MechWarrior franchise, the aptly named MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries, will be released next spring as a console exclusively for Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.

As the name suggests, it is an action game in which giant robots (mechas) take part. The first episode came out in 1989 (it doesn’t make us younger) and the fourth with the title Mech Warrior 4: Vengeance

Suffice it to say that the license has survived the centuries, but fans of the license were impatient to eat a new episode. In terms of tradition, it can be summarized as follows:

The year is 3015. Humanity has colonized thousands of systems in a vast region of space that has been fragmented by centuries of conflict.

The battlefields of the future will be dominated by the MechWarriors, elite pilots of towering war machines known as BattleMechs. It’s a lucrative time to be a mercenary.

The Piranha Games studio has been responsible for the license since the free episode was released in 2013. The episode we’re interested in today, the fifth, has been available on PC since December 2019, but has bypassed the consoles. Today we learned that MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will be coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S appears.

The studio promises us many improvements (AI, user interface, graphics …) to provide the best user experience. We’ll judge when the game will be released by game. In the meantime, here’s a trailer from the PC version:
