Simmers can expect the same depth as the PC version, with the most authentic and realistic flight simulator we’ve ever developed and available to the widest audience of all time.
Optimized to take advantage of the power of the Xbox Series X | S, Microsoft flight simulator brings realism, accuracy and authenticity to flying. Even if you are a new pilot, you can jump right in and experience the thrill of flying. Microsoft flight simulator on Xbox Series X | S adds new features to make the experience easily accessible:
Discovery flights: Newcomers can easily enter the world of Microsoft flight simulator and experience some of the most impressive wonders of our planet, including stunning locations like the Great Pyramid of Giza and Mount Everest, or vibrant cities like Naples and Rio de Janeiro. Take off in the air and off you go.
World Exploration Improvements: Many users love to see the planet in. to explore Microsoft flight simulator, and we’ve made that experience even better. The world map now includes satellite imagery, map labels, and the names of major points of interest (POI) to make exploring the world (and even finding your home) as easy as possible. We have extended this function to the flight experience itself and users can now activate the POI labels during a flight so that they can get a feel for the spatial relationships between cities, mountains and other points of interest.
Flight training: We’ve made major improvements to our flight training to ensure a smoother learning curve, making it snack-sized and adding a new performance appraisal system. We now have 22 training flights teaching users the basics of flying, starting with basic handling, through landing and take-off, VFR navigation and learning to fly an airliner like the Airbus 320neo. We also added contextual voice overs to explain elements and provide feedback.
Flight assistance: We’re introducing an extremely useful new tool called Flight Assistant that provides AI assistance in flight:
- You can select nearby POIs or airports and set them as your destination for directions.
- You can use it to have the AI land your plane automatically.
- You can use it for automatic trimming and anti-stall.
Land anywhere: In most flight simulators, taking off and landing at an airport can be complex and intimidating for newbies. 71% of our planet is made up of water, so we’ve added water landing facilities. We have redesigned several of our planes and integrated optional floaters, skis and a “large tire” function so that you can land almost anywhere.
Microsoft flight simulator on Xbox Series X | S is the most easily accessible entry yet with the addition of Screen Narrator and new features like Discovery Flights, brand new training flights, improved landing gear and more, so new pilots can jump straight into the thrill of flying!
