This latest release invites simmers to choose their preferred aircraft to explore these vibrant locations, from the French Riviera to the skyscrapers of Stockholm.
Simmers will enjoy:
Stockholm, Sweden
Stockholm is Sweden’s capital and most populous city, a national, regional and global centre for industry, education, finance and culture. The city is built on several flat islands inland in the Baltic Sea in the southeast of the country. The city is rich in cultural heritage and offers a wide range of architecture, including Stockholm City Hall, Scandic Victoria Tower, Riddarholmen Church and the surrounding Gamla Stan (Old Town).
Nice, France
Nice is located in the southeast of France in the heart of the Côte d’Azur (Azur Coast) near the Italian border. This region, also known as the French Riviera, is famous for the deep blue color of the sky and the matching Mediterranean waters. Nice lies at the interface between rolling hills, low mountains and the sea. From above, Nice’s architecture presents itself in a colorful mosaic of earth tones and terracotta. Pilots enjoy expansive views as well as individual facets of the city, including the Nice Cathedral, Place Giuseppe Garibaldi and the Cathédrale Saint-Nicolas de Nice.
Monaco
Located seven miles northeast of Nice, Monaco is an independent, sovereign city-state surrounded by France on land. It encompasses less than a square mile of coastline between mountains and sea. It has a large beach, Plage du Larvotto, and two harbors, Port Hercule and Port Fontvieille. Monaco is a model of architectural diversity, from the Middle Ages to the modern era. Notable sites include the Fort Antoine Theater, the Prince’s Palace of Monaco, and the Monte Carlo Casino.
Barcelona, Europe
Barcelona, the capital of Spanish Catalonia, is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world and is located on the Mediterranean Sea, just south of the border with France. Numerous architectural masterpieces (from classical to ultra-modern) are scattered throughout Barcelona. These include the Arc de Triomf, the entrance to the 1888 Barcelona Universal Exhibition; the Sagrada Família, a famous cathedral; and the Torre Glòries (Torre Agbar), one of the most striking works of modern architecture in the world.
Porto, Portugal
Located on the Atlantic coast in northern Portugal, Porto is the country’s second largest city after the capital Lisbon. The city was originally founded as a major trading port during the Roman Empire and has remained important both regionally and globally over the centuries. The United Nations has declared Porto’s city centre a World Heritage Site and the city is also known for its mix of different architectural styles, including neoclassical, baroque and modern. The views over Porto from the air, especially over the “old town” where the Douro River flows into the Atlantic, are spectacular.
Madrid, Europe
Madrid is the capital and most populous city of Europe, located near the center of the country in the central part of the Iberian Peninsula. It is a major global center for industry, finance, culture and international governance and boasts some of the world’s most spectacular architecture, both classical and modern. It is known for its countless neighborhoods of narrow, winding streets and enormous skyscrapers. The sights to explore in Madrid seem endless, but they include the Royal Palace of Madrid, the Cybele Palace and the Cuatro Torres business district, a modern complex containing the four tallest skyscrapers in Europe and four of the ten tallest in the European Union.
