Microsoft Flight Simulator City Update VIII: Las Vegas features one of the world’s most distinctive cities. Las Vegas (“the meadows” in Spanish) takes its name from a Mexican explorer who passed through the area in 1829 and found dense grasslands fed by freshwater springs. Founded on May 15, 1905, the city grew steadily over the next two decades, with its population booming with the legalization of gambling in Nevada casinos in 1931 and the start of construction on the nearby Hoover Dam.

Las Vegas is located in the Mojave Desert in southern Nevada, surrounded by rugged mountain peaks that shimmer in the afternoon light. Known unofficially as the “Entertainment Capital of the World,” a key part of its appeal is its diverse architecture, including The Strat, a complex that includes a 1,150-foot-tall observation tower. Visitors can also experience the pyramid-shaped Luxor, from the top of which shines the Luxor Sky Beam, the brightest man-made light in the world. And the Las Vegas Strip, a stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard in the heart of the city, is bustling from dusk to dawn.

Microsoft Flight Simulator City Update VIII brings Las Vegas and its myriad facets to life like never before in the world. This latest offering lets Simmers enjoy the sights of Las Vegas in stunning resolution, with a fusion of the latest high-resolution aerial imagery, digital elevation model data, and triangulated irregular network (TIN) surface texturing to render the landmarks.

Microsoft Flight Simulator City Update VIII: Las Vegas is available FREE to all Microsoft Flight Simulator owners. Make sure your simulator is running version 1.37.19.0 (or later), download City Update VIII, then take off in your favorite aircraft and enjoy the incredible views of Las Vegas.
