BlizzCon 2024 cancellation was not a decision by Microsoft, says Blizzard
The decision to cancel BlizzCon 2024 comes solely from the Blizzard Entertainment company. Microsoft has nothing to do with the cancellation, as Blizzard makes clear once again.
“This is a decision by Blizzard,” a Blizzard representative said.
“We’ve explored different event formats in the past and this isn’t the first time we’ve skipped BlizzCon or tried something new. While we have great things to say for 2024, the timing just isn’t right for a single event at the end of the year.”
Accordingly, Blizzard Entertainment has a lot in the works, but not enough to organize an independent event towards the end of the year.
