Microsoft is working hard to ship more Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles.
Last Christmas there were tons of Xbox Series X | S consoles missing under the Christmas tree. But it wasn’t the Grinch who stole the parcels, rather there was simply a lack of supplies due to the corona pandemic.
And while many of you continue to hammer the F5 key every second at various online retailers, Xbox boss Phil Spencer reassures that they are working hard to make more consoles available.
On episode # 728 of the Major Nelson Podcast, Spencer said he understands gamers’ frustration, but they don’t hold back consoles and work with partners like AMD.
“It’s really just a matter of physics and technology. We don’t hold them back: we’ll build them as fast as we can. We all have assembly lines in operation. I spoke to AMD’s Lisa Su last week and asked, “How can we get more? So this is something we are constantly working on. “
“But it’s not just up to us: Gaming really caught on in 2020. Obviously the PlayStation 5 is very scarce in terms of supply. If you look at AMD and Nvidia graphics cards … there’s just a lot of interest in gaming right now and console sales are just a sign of that, game sales are a sign of that, and hardware is tight. But we work as hard as we can. The teams are incredibly dedicated and I appreciate the patience of the people as we work to build more. “
